Collector guide

Original Art vs Limited Editions

Understand uniqueness, editions, signatures, materials and price differences.

In brief. An original is the unique physical work created by the artist. A limited edition is a reproducible image issued in a declared quantity. Collectors should look for edition size, numbering, signature, printing method, substrate and whether artist proofs exist.

How to think about it

Neither format is automatically better. The choice depends on budget, uniqueness, scale and how you want to live with the work.

Use the Atlas

Cross-check artist profiles, artwork records, subject guides and regional context rather than relying on one sales page.
